The client is a large U.S. healthcare technology company serving hospitals and health systems. Two of its applications, a gateway UI and a customer identity audit application, were running on aging codebases that had become difficult to maintain and change. Neither had current technical or business documentation.
The Challenge
Monolithic architecture made every change high-risk and slowed the pace of new development. Undocumented business rules sat inside the code with no way to retrieve them short of manual reverse-engineering. Open security vulnerabilities in the gateway needed remediation without disrupting existing functionality.
