Overview
Neurealm developed a display enhancement algorithm architecture for a Tier-1 audio and imaging company, optimizing HDR-style video processing and integrating the advanced standard into existing UHD video-centric silicon.
Business Context
A leading manufacturer of cinema, broadcast, and television imaging products wanted to retrofit an advanced display enhancement algorithm into their DTV SoC platform. The challenge involved partitioning software and hardware tasks, managing high-speed LVDS and VBY1 interfaces, and converting algorithmic MATLAB models into efficient C and RTL that would operate at UHD 30 Hz performance levels.
Solutions
Neurealm’s multi-location team defined the hardware–software architecture, designed RTL with high-speed interface support, and implemented the algorithm so it could deliver vastly improved brightness, contrast, and visual detail. They handled MATLAB-to-C conversion, RTL development, verification, and integration with the embedded NIOS II processor, delivering a solution capable of high-quality video enhancement on the target platform.
