Senior Program Manager: Healthcare Application Transformation
Experience: 15+ Years
Focus: Digital Health, Modernization, & Clinical Workflow Integration
Role Overview
As a Senior Program Manager, you will lead the strategic overhaul of our healthcare application landscape. This is a high-visibility role requiring a deep understanding of Provider/Payer workflows, HIPAA/GDPR compliance, and cloud-native modernization. You will bridge the gap between complex engineering requirements and clinical outcomes, ensuring that our digital transformation reduces provider burden and enhances patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Roadmap Ownership: Direct the multi-year transformation strategy, moving legacy monolithic healthcare applications to scalable, cloud-based microservices.
Interoperability Leadership: Oversee the integration of disparate systems using HL7, FHIR, and EDI standards to ensure seamless data liquidity across the enterprise.
Governance & Compliance: Act as the primary gatekeeper for regulatory standards (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2), ensuring all transformed applications meet stringent security and clinical safety audits.
Stakeholder Orchestration: Navigate a matrixed environment to align IT, Clinical Operations, Legal, and Finance. Lead regular Steering Committee sessions with C-level executives.
Financial Accountability: Manage $10M+ program budgets, including vendor negotiations (SaaS, SI partners) and ROI tracking for modernization initiatives.
Change Management: Drive the organizational "pivot" from legacy workflows to digital-first processes, ensuring high adoption rates among clinical staff.
Qualifications
15+ years in IT Program Management, with at least 8 years specifically in healthcare application transformation.
Technical Depth: Proven experience with EHR/EMR integrations, Telehealth platforms, or Population Health Management tools.
Methodology: Mastery of Agile/SAFe and Waterfall; ability to hybridize these for complex clinical rollouts.
Certifications: PMP or PgMP is required. Clinical certifications (e.g., CPHIMS) or Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP) are highly preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Admin, CS, or related; Master’s/MBA preferred.
