Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Neo4j Expert to lead the design, development, and optimization of our graph-based data ecosystem. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming complex, highly connected datasets into actionable knowledge. You will work at the intersection of data engineering and AI, building scalable graph models that power everything from real-time recommendation engines to GraphRAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) for our LLM applications.
Key Responsibilities
Graph Modeling: Design and implement sophisticated Property Graph models (Nodes, Relationships, Properties) that mirror complex business domains.
Query Optimization: Write and tune high-performance Cypher queries, utilizing APOC procedures and custom plugins to ensure sub-second latency on large-scale datasets.
Architecture & Scaling: Manage Neo4j clusters (AuraDB or self-hosted) to ensure high availability, security (RBAC), and horizontal scalability.
AI & Data Science: Implement graph algorithms (Centrality, Community Detection, Pathfinding) and integrate with AI workflows using the Neo4j Graph Data Science (GDS) library.
Pipeline Integration: Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from RDBMS, NoSQL, and streaming sources (Kafka/Spark) into the graph.
Technical Leadership: Act as the subject matter expert for graph technology, mentoring junior developers and defining best practices for graph governance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Category Requirement
Core Experience 5+ years in database engineering, with 3+ years dedicated to Neo4j.
Query Language Expert-level proficiency in Cypher and a deep understanding of query planning/tuning.
Graph Science Experience with the GDS Library and graph-based machine learning (embeddings).
Development Proficiency in Java (for custom procedures) or Python (for data science/drivers).
Cloud/DevOps Hands-on experience with Neo4j Aura, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
Modern AI Knowledge of GraphRAG and connecting knowledge graphs to LLMs (LangChain/LlamaIndex).
Preferred Qualifications
Certification: Neo4j Certified Professional or Neo4j Graph Data Science Certified.
Polyglot Graphing: Familiarity with other graph technologies like Amazon Neptune, ArangoDB, or the GQL standard.
Visualization: Proficiency in Neo4j Bloom or building custom front-ends with D3.js or Neovis.js.
Domain Expertise: Previous experience in Fraud Detection, Identity Resolution, or Supply Chain Traceability.
