Overview

Neurealm served as a strategic partner for a US-based semiconductor company to lead the development of a high-performance LiDAR-based SoC. Using a 30-member team and a fixed-price model, the project spanned from architectural consultancy to full SoC integration. The design featured a Quad Core A78 application subsystem and dedicated Cortex R5 DCLS safety managers, ensuring a robust foundation for automotive-grade sensing.

Business Context

The client required a long-term partner capable of managing the high architectural and safety complexities of LiDAR technology. Key drivers included:
Strategic Partnership: Establishing a dedicated Offshore Development Center (ODC).
Functional Safety: Meeting rigorous ASIL-B compliance standards.
IP Complexity: Integrating diverse high-speed IPs such as Arteris NoC, LPDDR4, MIPI, and Ethernet.
Architecture Expertise: Defining complex application and scan control subsystems.

Solutions

Neurealm delivered a comprehensive design and verification suite using Incisive, JasperGold, and Genus:
Subsystem Architecture: Defined the Quad Core A78 application layer and dual Cortex R5 DCLS units for safety and scan control.
Custom IP & Logic: Developed the Boot State Machine, OTP Wrapper, and Clock/Reset blocks.
Verification & Emulation:
Conducted detailed Formal Verification (FV) checks.
Provided dedicated support for Palladium Emulation.
Managed multiple verification environments to ensure maximum coverage.
Safety & Integration: Executed safety design for ASIL-B and integrated complex components like GIC and XSPI.
