Overview

Despite being nearly a decade since Gartner introduced the term AIOps (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations) in 2016, awareness and adoption among IT infrastructure leaders remain limited. A recent set of interviews conducted by Chandra Mouleswaran S, thought leadership consultant, the mind behind the AIOps platform ZIF, revealed a significant knowledge gap: out of ten senior IT infrastructure candidates, seven had no exposure to AIOps, AI, or GenAI. Even those who recognized the term lacked clarity on its role and potential.

AIOps is more than a buzzword—it represents the evolution of IT operations from reactive to proactive. By leveraging AI and ML, AIOps platforms can predict incidents, automate responses, and optimize infrastructure performance. This is critical in today’s digital-first enterprises, where downtime and inefficiencies directly impact customer experience and business outcomes.

This whitepaper explores the current state of AIOps awareness, its value in modern enterprises, the types of vendors in the space, and why IT leaders must urgently embrace AIOps to stay competitive and resilient in an AI-driven future.
