Role Overview:
The Technical PMO Lead is responsible for establishing and maintaining the standards for project management and governance across the infrastructure landscape. This role involves overseeing the portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals, and driving execution excellence across Daily operations, complex technical migrations and upgrades.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical foundation to effectively interface with engineering teams while demonstrating mastery in Project Management Office (PMO) frameworks to ensure the reliability and security of both Short term initiatives, Daily Operations and large-scale infrastructure initiatives.
Technical Expertise (Required)
Good Understanding in virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), storage solutions, Wintel, and Unix platforms.
Solid understanding of Database technologies and the Middleware (MW) technology stack.
Good knowledge of Citrix VDI environment (DaaS + ELM App layering knowledge is highly desirable).
Key Responsibilities
● PMO Governance & Project Oversight:
Portfolio Management: Oversee the lifecycle of all infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational standards.
Milestone Tracking: Lead the tracking of project milestones and deliverables, coordinating with technical leads to resolve bottlenecks and dependencies.
Process Standardization: Establish and implement PMO best practices, including standardized project templates, reporting cadences, and execution methodologies (Agile/Waterfall).
ITSM Integration: Manage Infrastructure SLAs and Collaborate with ITSM teams to ensure all projects adhere to Change Management protocols and that Post-Implementation Reviews (PIR) and RCAs are conducted for project-related outages.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all infrastructure projects and Operations meet the agreed-upon Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and technical specifications before transitioning to "Run" operations.
Capacity & Resource Planning: Monitor project demand and resource utilization trends to forecast future needs and ensure optimal allocation of technical staff across competing priorities.
● Stakeholder & Client Management:
Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, providing transparency into project health and risks.
Satisfaction: Ensure high client satisfaction by maintaining a proactive communication loop and ensuring technical solutions align with client business requirements.
● Resource & PMO Leadership:
Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of project coordinators and technical specialists, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the PMO.
Strategic Alignment: Drive a collaborative environment where technical expertise is leveraged to meet PMO-driven deadlines.
● Risk, Security & Compliance:
Risk Mitigation: Identify, track, and manage technical and project risks, ensuring mitigation plans are in place for high-impact infrastructure changes.
Regulatory Alignment: Ensure all project-led infrastructure deployments comply with security policies, industry regulations, and internal audit requirements.
Contractual Compliance: Work with internal support teams to ensure all project deliverables fulfill contractual obligations and meet rigorous security benchmarks.
● Documentation & Knowledge Management:
Project Artifacts: Maintain a centralized repository of project documentation, including architecture designs, runbooks, and "as-built" configurations to support seamless operational handovers.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: 15+ years of experience in infrastructure environments.
At least 5 years PMO leadership role, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
Technical Skills: (As specified) Strong expertise in virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), storage, Wintel, Unix, DB technologies, MW stack, and Citrix VDI (DaaS/ELM).
Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or ITIL certifications are highly desirable.
Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to manage diverse, high-performing teams and drive project excellence in complex, multi-tower environments.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, with the specific ability to translate complex technical milestones into "executive-ready" status reports.
